not much to report this week. The video assignment was fairly easy. My continuing problems with video on this computer seem to be smoothing out somewhat. It was interesting, though. Windows Movie Maker was not working when I first opened it. I could drag the movie into the project and it would play until I put in on the timeline, and then it wouldn’t. File:import didn’t work. File: save as didn’t work. Closed it, opened it again. Still didn’t work. One more time and then it did. I don’t know why . . .
Good news is that all my pages passed the w3c validator first time. True, I didn’t make many changes this week, but still, getting a validation is very nice.
I do feel a little behind, though. I need to make the video that I will use for the project. I am thinking of showing two robots, geared differently, in a couple of different situations- climbing an incline, speed on a flat surface, pulling a weight . . . I have to decide. At least some of this I would like to do, not through a video, but by students building the robots and testing the ideas. I may do the video described to have something for this class, and then change it later before using this in a class.
One funny thing that is coming up right now . . . I thought I would be teaching a middle school, quarter-long class next year. It turns out that I may not be the teacher assigned to teach the class. That’s all good, as this summer and next fall I think I need to doble up on my UNT classes. Not teaching this new course would help me with my time. I wonder if the teacher who is going to teach the class will want to use the materials I have been developing.
hmmmm . . . .
